We would like to thank Liz for her hospitality and also for the presentation of the Burnside Guest house the room was very clean and tidy Liz went out her way to help us and we would just like to thank Liz for the hospitality the three days we stayed.
We would recommend this b&b to family and friend and myself and Mary would be happy to come back and stay again in the future.
I have stayed at the Burnside Guest House 4 times now, Liz is great host, always very welcoming,chatty and helpful. the rooms are neat, very well kept and homely. the food is also very nice, great breakfast!
i liked the range of films/dvds and there’s a very good internet connection..all in all a perfect place to stay..well recommended.
So glad the wedding went well and the rain held off, in fact it turned out a lovely evening. It was really nice to have all the family and friends staying at the Burnside and listening to the excitement at breakfast time. Look forward to meeting you again, and thank you so much for the flowers, they took pride of place at my breakfast table!

As a guest house owner myself, from Dersingham, Norfolk, I can honestly say that I could not fault anything. Liz runs a superb B&B, with a great atmosphere. First class for our welcome, cleanliness, facilities & a lovely choice of breakfast menu. I have already told other people that The Burnside is, THE, place to stay in Ayr. So anyone wanting to stay in Ayr, don’t bother to look elsewhere !! Well recommended.
P.S. I also stayed at a hotel in Edinburgh , much more expensive and which was 100% diabolical. Well done Liz. Thank you, we will return.
just back from the burnside and had a good time as the host was friendly and didnt shout at us , it was the best b. b. that weve been too as we both thought we hit the jackpot with this one we will be back at some point

Perfect !!! Bath Place let us fell coming home. Liz you are the greatest!
The owner, Liz, is more then the best- she let you feel you are coming home. The house is absolutly perfect prepared, with lovely “small” things like a bottle of wine for the first evening, bread and butter in the refrigerator.
The house is warm and you feel you are coming home and do not want to leave anymore.
The house is very clean and has everthing, really everything you need.
You are only some steps away from the fine sandy beach and wonderful irish sea. Fantastic to have a short or long distance walk.
If you have any problem or question, Liz will be there in some minutes. She is a very warm person -like the house, we are allowed
to live in for this time.
You can reach everything per foot, so you do not need a car. Pubs, restaurants, shops, where you get everything you need.
Top service and we will tell it all of our good friends.
We had booked for next year, only for longer than now.
The people around are lovely, friendly and helpful.
Let the other people fly to Mallorca, the heaven is here, Bath Place 16, Ayr, Scotland
Great B&B, and with a host like Liz it can’t be any better ! We were there on Sep 15th, and loved it. As 2 Dutchies cruising around Scotland, this visit truely added to our great Scots Experience.

Well what can I say, I did a lot of research into places to stay in Ayr and read the reviews and comments of The Burnside Guest House, which are all very positive and I can say hand on heart this is the best guest house I have stayed in. From the moment we arrived (quite late on Friday night, after a 6 hour drive from Nottingham) we were made to feel very welcome by Liz and taken to our immaculate well presented ensuite room.
I travel allot through work and stay in many hotels around the world but the Burnside goes into my top five for service and comfort – Oh yeah Breakfast is great as well, it’s a shame we weren’t staying a few more nights to try a few other choices!
In summary –

Lovely presented clean rooms
Good breakfast
Comfy beds

Simply the best
Everything was just super! The best B&B we’ve ever stayed in. Lovely house in a calm street, a very nice and friendly hostess, excellent breakfast, modern bathroom, Internet access… Everything you need. We would love to come back.

This is just perfect in every way. Our room was enormous. So very comfortable, and beautifully presented. Liz is very warm and welcoming. The breakfasts were lovely. We will be returning.
Having stayed in both hotels and guest houses in Ayr every fortnight for the best part of a year, I can confidently say that both The Burnside Guest House and Liz (its proprietor) stand heads and shoulders above the rest.
The Burnside Guest house was recommended to me and I’m so glad I listened! I no longer stay anywhere else when making my fortnightly business trip to Scotland.
Every room is immaculate in every way possible, decor, cleanliness and atmosphere.

The Burnside guest house is truly the jewel in the crown of this beautiful coastal town.
Lovely clean rooms with great facilities.
Liz is a fantastic host and made us feel at home. We were also spoilt for choice with the breakfasts.

Have stayed now at the Burnside Guesthouse on 3 occassions & already booked for our 4th visit. Rooms are very comfortable & spotlessley clean, Liz is always very helpful & friendly. Would not consider staying anywhere else.

I found this guest house by coincidence, and I must say that its a little gem. I’m a traveller and stayed in countless hotels and hostels around the world and this place is probably one of the nicest ones I had the pleasure to stay at. I will definitely come back and recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to visit Ayrshire. Thank you for the enjoyable stay.

This was my second stay at the Burnside, I wouldn’t even consider looking elsewhere if I could not stay here I would rather change my trip dates . Always a pleasure to stay here
The Burnside is conveniently situated in a quiet street, close to the beach and a short walk from Ayr’s many amenities. The rooms in this period property have been beautifully restored and Liz is always an excellent host. This is my favourite place to stay whenever I have business in Ayrshire.
The Burnside thoroughly deserves it’s 100% positive rating
We cannot speak highly enough about The Burnside, it was our final stop after a 10 day holiday touring Scotland and what a perfect end to a lovely holiday. We hadn’t pre-booked so what a little gem to find by chance. The guesthouse has been tastefully decorated and has an air of tranquility about it. The room was immaculately clean, and it is within minutes of the beach and town.
The proprieter Liz made us feel really welcome and couldn’t do enough to help and make our stay comfortable. So thankyou Liz, this will hopefully be our first holiday of many to Scotland and you will be our first booking next time.
